Home / Special Announcements / Welcome to 2019 School Year

Dear Parents,

We have had a great start to the year with students settling in quickly to their new classes and the school routine. I hope things have been as smooth at home getting your child to school!

Our new locker distribution has presented a few issues and we apologise for any confusion and stress this has caused families at the start of the year. The change to the locker distribution was introduced this year so that we have knowledge of who is using which locker. The lockers and surrounding areas were cleaned and lockers numbered over the school break. This was at a substantial cost over the two campuses.

Parents must pay a minimum fee of $55 to receive a lock. The student then takes this lock to their CARE teacher who will allocate them with a locker. This way we are able to track which student has which locker and keep a record of their lock code in case they forget it. If you are unable to pay this fee, please contact the college so that we can make arrangements.

We have found that some students are changing their code. This means we do not have a record. If your child changes their code and then forgets their code, they will need to purchase a new lock at a cost of $17.50.

The locks that we have purchased are very secure and not easily removed or vandalised. It is for this reason that we do not want students bringing their own locks as we have had vandalism and damage to locks after school hours and on the weekends.p

We feel that these changes are going to ensure a cleaner and more secure locker environment for your child.

If you have questions about this process please contact your child’s CARE teacher.

We look forward to students continuing to settle into their classes and a study routine at home to support their learning. We also have many special events this term including the Swimming sports on  20th February, Camps week in week 7, Harmony Day 22nd March and the Athletics sports on Monday 1st April.

Yours faithfully,

Maree Cribbes

Campus Principal
