Year 9 Structure

The College’s year 9 structure provides students with the necessary preparation to transition to year 10 at the Senior College. Like year 7 and 8 students remain in their home group for their core classes of English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and CARE. They also select one elective from PE, Art, Technology and a free choice. Students can select 2 subjects across the year from the Vertical group.

Like year 8, to provide students with the best opportunity to succeed in learning a language other than English the College offers year 8 students a whole year immersion program in Japanese or Indonesian as one of their electives. For further information about our subject on offer please refer to our subject selection booklet.

Those students who studied AVID in year 8 can select this as an elective in year 9.
