Home / Special Announcements / Huon Fence Completion

Over the holidays the last of the gates were installed completing the security fence at Huon Campus. Our thanks to Phil Cannell Fencing on competing this complex task involving close to a kilometer of fence and 11 gates in the construction.

The purpose of the fence is to provide a safe and secure environment for our staff and students to work. The expectation is that during school hours all visitors to the school and those leaving the school grounds will do so through the front office on Mitchell Street as all other entry points will be locked. To achieve this there will be some operational matters that all families will need to familiarise themselves with.

This week we expect the gates will be operating in their set times to automatically open and close, ensuring the safety of our students and staff. This will mean that the sliding gates on Mitchell Street, Wilson street and Hamilton Smith Drive will automatically open at 8:15am and will automatically close at 9am. The gates will remain closed throughout the school day. Gates will automatically open again when the final bell rings at 3:10pm.

All students arriving to the College after 9am will be required to enter the buildings through the front office located off Mitchell Street. As normal practice, all parents/guardians, community members and service providers are required to enter the College through the front office at any time they arrive onsite.
