Home / Special Announcements / Huon Building Regeneration

On Thursday 13th September Bill Tilley MLA and Tim Smith MP (Member for Kew and Shadow Education Minister) attended the Huon Campus to meet with Paul Thorpe (School Council President), Michael Grohmann (School Captain) and myself. An announcement was made that if their party is elected in November they will promise $5 million of funding to begin the redevelopment at the Huon Campus. This is great news for Wodonga Middle Years College as we are currently operating in buildings that are becoming increasingly difficult to maintain. They certainly do not reflect the great teaching and learning that is happening in our College.

This will mean that we can begin planning in 2019 with the first stage of building in 2020. The first stage of building will most likely comprise of a new Arts, Technology wing. The plan is to relocate the new buildings to the Wilson Street side of the school to ease congestion in Mitchell street.
