On September 4th our hockey teams from both Huon and Felltimber campuses competed against competed against Cathedral College, Wangaratta at the Albury Hockey Centre.

The girls side consisted of girls from Year 7 and 8, some of whom play hockey competitively each week, and others who were having their first ever game. The girls combined well and worked hard to be 0 all at half time. Cathedral College had a team who have been playing together since Year 6, and ran out winners 3-0 after a competitive second half.

Year 7 boys hockey team preparing to compete in their game

The Year 7 boys team improved dramatically through their two games, winning their first game but were defeated in their second. The Year 8 boys team also consisted of boys who play hockey each week and some enthusiastic, competitive newcomers. Many of these boys were in the successful Year 7 team that played off for the state championship last year. The skill of those who play weekly shone through and the boys won their match easily. The directions from Mr Wakefield (Felltimber) assisted the team structure. Good luck in the next round boys.

A big thanks to Grace and Corey, two students from Wodonga Senior Secondary College for umpiring all of the matches and to Bailey Holems (Huon Sport trainee) for acting as convener on the day.
