On Wednesday September 12th the Wodonga Junior Hockey club held their presentation night.
The Noel Wilson Memorial Encouragement award was won by Alicia Wilson a Year 8 student at the Huon campus. The citation read in part that “Alicia always gave her best, listened to the coaches and was a valued teammate”.
This year Alicia played up an age group in the Under 16 girls’ team as well as played in the Division 2 women’s side. Alicia was stunned to receive the award, previously her Mum, Sandy, and her Auntie received the award when they were juniors.
In Alicia’s acceptance speech she graciously thanked all of her coaches for making her the hockey player that she is today and her Mum for making her the person she is today.
Congratulations Alicia on your well-deserved award.
