Position Overview

We are seeking passionate and dedicated Literacy and Numeracy Tutors to join our tutoring program aimed at enhancing reading, writing, comprehension or mathematic skills among students in year levels 7-9. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in literacy or numeracy education, patience, and the ability to tailor instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of learners.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct literacy or numeracy assessments to identify students’ strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Develop personalised learning plans based on assessment results and individual student needs/interests.
  • Provide engaging and interactive instruction using a variety of teaching methods and materials.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to support students’ literacy development.
  • Maintain accurate records of student engagement, progress, and achievements.
  • Stay informed about current trends and research in education around intervention.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, English, or a related field.
  • Previous experience working with students in a tutoring, teaching, or educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of literacy or numeracy instruction strategies and best practices for differentiation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping students succeed.
